We End Up Where Our Attention Is
Attention is defined as the act or power of fixing your mind on something. Many believe that The Secret is the power of our mind and intention to consistently draw things we think about to our lives like a magnet. Our focus and concentration on a situation, an outcome, or a desire will release the energy necessary to bring about manifestation in the physical world. Remember, everything in the universe whether seen or unseen is energy. And the Law of Attraction states that we attract the things with which we are in vibrational harmony and are the object of our mental focus. Every thought has a measurable frequency. They are sending out that magnetic signal that is drawing the parallel back to you.
Our thoughts and emotions are fueled by our sensory system. The things we experience in our environment inspire either a negative or positive thought pattern. Most people think about what they don’t want and that shows up consistently in their lives. The intensity of what is happening in our lives determines the amount of mental focus we are releasing to that event or circumstance. When our focus is on something with a lot of passion, it makes it happen even faster.
Personal Experience
There have been times that I have attracted the very thing I did not want into my life. I could not understand how all my efforts to avoid a certain outcome left me facing the very thing I did not desire with no recourse. The incident with my daughter’s college tuition comes to the forefront of my mind. This was, in fact, the biggest disappointment in my life as a mother…looking back I was operating laws unaware.
Picture this, at 8 years old you birth this dream in the heart of your daughter of going to a particular intuition after high school; you visit the campus, you learn about all they have to offer – she begins to dream about all that can be accomplished by attending this school and you both forget about it until it’s time to apply to colleges her senior year.
Now we are living in another state, recovering from a personal financial recession and she is accepted into the school of her dreams. Now, I knew that a nearly $10K per semester tuition bill (including housing & food) was not something I could pull off without divine intervention.
Knowing this was a job for The Father, The Son & The Holy Spirit, I prayed and asked for divine guidance about us embracing the reality that she would be able to attend her dream school. Sometime later during my mediation time, I received confirmation to proceed with enrollment and that the money was there. So, we successfully enroll her with the expectation that the money was available for her to complete her degree.
Mental Focus & The Law of Attraction
In this section, I would like to provide you with a real-life experience of how focusing on what you don’t want or being in fear of the unknown can hinder your ability to receive the very answer that was promised to you. Remember, I stated earlier that I was always involved in the manifestation of the provision for my daughter. Going into this I consciously knew that I could not supply this tuition money on my own but my experience of being involved in the process kept me focused on my limitations. The more I tried to save the less I was able to save. My income and my credit score at the time were low, so we were able to get a couple of small student loans, but I did not want her to be plagued with debt for a college education.
But “The Divine Voice,” said that the money was there…but for the life of me I could not find there because I was focused on my limitations and what I was experiencing at the time; I was unable to save or borrow enough the money for the upcoming session, so long story short – my daughter had to withdraw from her dream school not even completing her freshman year because of my unawareness of divine laws and my inability to control my thoughts and emotions around the very thing I desired to provide from my daughter.
After things did not pan out as I had hoped or heard – I really considered the possibility of me being Bi-Polar. I thought I could not have made this stuff – I really did hear this Voice but why didn’t it come to pass? Months later after I was able to reflect on this experience without having an emotional breakdown – that same Divine Voice provided the answer. A scholarship was prepared for her… which is what the “the money was there” statement was referring to. I was so focused on being the avenue for which the resources came I was never open to the money coming apart from me.
Your thoughts and feelings create your life and have an impact on the lives of those you love the most. What you focus on with thought and feeling is what you attract into your experience. When you begin to understand and truly master your mind and emotions you will recognize that whatever thought has done in your life it can be undone with a shift in your awareness.
